With many families finding it harder to travel in the current economic climate, the Edgewater Resort and Spa has implemented some changes to make an island holiday more affordable for clients.

The resort has decided to suspend the extra person rate for all garden and garden superior rooms, according to Edgewater Resort and Spa local representative Laura Wadsworth.

“It allows for up to three adults to share a garden or garden superior room without the additional cost of charging the third adult in the room - welcome news for small families with adult children or groups of friends travelling together.”

This is effective for travel from September 1 to March 31, 2010.

For larger groups, there’s the option of taking a three bedroom garden or beachfront villa which sleeps up to six people and offers a more spacious option with the added bonus of full resort facilities.

In another effort to make a Rarotonga holiday affordable for everyone, for a limited trial period, six of the Edgewater’s garden rooms have been fitted with bedding to accommodate up to four people per room. The bedding configuration is one single bunk bed and two single beds.

Wadsworth said the quad option is proving to be very popular with students and sports teams looking for an inexpensive, value-for-money base. Again, standard garden room rates apply without the extra person charge. These quad rooms will be made available for travel up to March 31, 2010 with black outs August 9 to 23.

To further assist families who want to travel but need to save money wherever they can, the Edgewater Resort and Spa has also raised its child policy from 12 years and under up to 16 years and under stay free in the room, when sharing with adults.  “This means families travelling with children can now afford to stretch more out of their dollar.”
